People in Jerusalem were getting stuck — a dead battery, a locked door, a flat tire — and waiting hours for help.
A group of friends started answering those calls. The calls kept coming. And it became clear that Jerusalem's English-speaking community needed someone they could always call.
So we built Chaverim of Jerusalem: a volunteer emergency assistance organization that has changed the experience of the Anglo community in this city.
Friends kept hearing from people who were stuck and waiting for hours with nowhere to turn.
It wasn't a one-time thing. English speakers in Jerusalem needed help they could ask for in their own language.
What began informally became a real organization — trained volunteers, a dispatch line, and a commitment to show up.
Chaverim of Jerusalem responds around the clock, six days a week, helping neighbors and visitors when something goes wrong.

Every Chaverim responder speaks English. No struggling to explain an emergency in a second language.
We were made for the Anglo community — but at the end of the day, we're neighbors helping anyone who needs a hand.
24/6, across Jerusalem. When you call, a volunteer is ready to respond.
Chaverim of Jerusalem is a registered U.S. nonprofit organization.

Chaverim runs on people who care — volunteers who respond, and supporters who keep us ready.
Non-medical emergency assistance in Jerusalem — 24/6, in English.
