What it looks like

How responding works.

Step 1

A call comes in

Someone in Jerusalem needs a hand — dispatch takes the details.

Step 2

Volunteers are alerted

The call goes out to volunteers in the area with the right skills and equipment.

Step 3

You respond

If you're available, you take the call. If you're not, someone else picks it up — no pressure.

Step 4

Problem solved

A stressful moment becomes a story about the time Chaverim showed up.

Who we're looking for

You don't need to be
a mechanic.

Some calls need jumper cables. Others just need a person with a car, a flashlight, and a willingness to help. We'll train you on the rest.

  • Live in or around Jerusalem
  • Speak English
  • Reliable and calm under pressure
  • Any availability helps — days, nights, weekdays
  • A vehicle helps, but isn't required for every role
Volunteer FAQ
How much time do I have to commit?
You choose your availability. Volunteers tell dispatch when they can take calls — there's no minimum shift requirement, though consistency helps us plan coverage.
Do I need my own equipment?
Not necessarily. Tell us what you have in the application — jumper cables, tools, a jack — and we'll factor it in. Equipment can also be provided over time.
Do I need experience?
No. Relevant skills are a plus, but attitude and reliability matter more. Training and guidance come with the role.
How do I receive calls?
Most volunteers receive calls through a dispatch app or radio system. You'll set your preference during onboarding.
What areas do you cover?
Jerusalem. In your application you can tell us how far you're willing to travel for a call.
